Iron Goat Trail

The Iron Goat trail is an interesting story. It is a walking/hiking trail into history on the west side of Stevens Pass in Washington State. It follows the old GN grade that was discontinued from use after the completion of the "new" Cascade Tunnel in 1929. Included on the trail is the site of Wellington, the location of the avalanche disaster, and a peak into the "old Cascade Tunnel. Follow the link to the "Iron Goat Trail" web site for more information and directions. These next few photos are from a hike taken by my wife and I a few years ago.
